About the job:

As HR Manager, you will play a critical role in leading the people agenda and creating a positive, safe, and high-performing work environment. This role combines strategic input with hands-on delivery and team leadership, aligning HR initiatives with broader business goals.

Roles & Responsibilities, including but not limited to:

-        Promote and embed a culture where employee well-being and safety are prioritised. Work closely with relevant teams to ensure compliance with health and safety policies and legal requirements, supporting a healthy and secure workplace.

-        Shape and support a positive workplace culture by aligning the HR strategy with the company’s values. Foster an inclusive and engaged environment where people can thrive.

-        Manage and lead the HR team to deliver a professional, responsive, and comprehensive HR service across all areas of the business.

-        Develop and implement people strategies that support the organisation’s strategic objectives, focusing on growth, performance, and long-term capability.

-        Provide coaching and expert advice to managers on all aspects of people leadership, including team development, organisational change, and business transformation.

-        Lead the recruitment process from sourcing to selection and manage onboarding and offboarding activities to ensure a positive experience for employees throughout their lifecycle.

Oversee all aspects of HR management and employee lifecycle, including but not limited to:

 

-          Employment contracts and onboarding

-          Disciplinary and grievance matters

-          Capability and performance management

-          Mentoring and coaching frameworks

-          Salary, benefits, and conditions of employment

-          Talent management and succession planning

-          Appraisal and performance systems

Professional Background:

-        Significant practical HR experience (typically 5+ years), ideally in both operational and strategic roles.

-        Proven track record in handling employee relations, performance management, and organisational change.

-        Formal qualification (e.g. CIPD Level 5 or above) is desirable but not essential if supported by substantial, relevant experience.

-        Candidates without a degree or CIPD qualification will be considered if they demonstrate strong practical experience and up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law.

-        Strong knowledge of UK employment law, TUPE, redundancy, disciplinary and grievance processes, and GDPR.

-        Proficiency with HRIS platforms (e.g. Workday, SAP, BambooHR) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
